Taking guests up-close and personal with renowned Italian establishment, Buon Ricordo, premium brand Insight Vacations officially launched its 2019 Europe and Britain Collection last Friday in Sydney.
With its terracotta exterior and bougainvillea potted at the windows, guests were transported to Italy with Buon Ricordo’s authentic Italian flair. Glasses of Prosecco greeted guests on arrival before they were treated to the restaurant’s signature dish, Fettuccine al Tartufovo (cream and parmesan, topped with a fried truffle egg), tossed at the table.
Lorraine Sharp, Managing Director for Insight Vacations welcomed guests: “We couldn’t be more excited to launch our 2019 collection, doing things differently by showing our guests the insights and not just the sights of a destination. We take them through the backstreets of major cities and quaint towns for immersive, local experiences to bring the destination to life.”
Special guest, Ulla Hefel Böhler, CEO of Insight Vacations, was also present from her hometown of Zürich, where she provided insight to what’s new for 2019, including emerging destinations and curated experiences made possible for Insight guests such as visiting the Willoughby family at their historic estate at Birdsall House in the UK, for an evening full of Yorkshire hospitality.
She added: “Picture the start of your European holiday: luggage taken care of and then stepping onto our luxurious coaches, reclining with the extra leg room and taking in the panoramic views as you journey through Europe. It’s these creature comforts and experiences that our guests love and keep coming back for; it’s what makes us different.”
Hefel Böhler also discussed Insight’s three brand-new trips for 2019 to Scandinavia, Malta and Greece.

Northern Lights of Scandinavia – Guests will embark on this new 10-day Country Roads Journey and begin their guided vacation in Helsinki, with its beautiful seaside architecture, before boarding a scenic flight to the charming village of Ivalo to view the spellbinding aurora borealis through their hotel room’s glass ceiling at the Aurora Village, located near Urho Kekkonen National Park. Their Greek adventure begins in Athens by spending their first day with a Local Expert to visit the ancient sights of the Acropolis and Parthenon. The adventure continues sailing across to scenic Mykonos, where they will spend another four days to explore the pretty white-and-blue streets, sun-kissed beaches and enjoy fresh Mediterranean cuisine including delightful Welcome and Celebration Dinners. Clients will also meet a local captain, whereupon they will embark on a leisurely cruise around the island.
