Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour has unveiled its new-look Opera Suite, following an impressive $500,000 update completed just in time for the destination’s peak summer period ahead.
The Opera Suite, formerly known as the Prestige Suite, has been a home-away-from-home for many high flyers over the years. General Manager Jeremy Healy said the new-look Opera Suite would appeal to loyal clientele while attracting new discerning guests “looking for that next level of luxury”.
The suite offers guests absolute privacy overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, Sky Tower and the city skyline.
Design house, ECC, has been completely transformed the suite to epitomise timeless luxury with bespoke design. An open plan living space flows effortlessly to an avant-garde dining space. An entertainer’s delight, the 8-seater dining table dovetails old and modern woodcraft adorning each end of the table, a nod to Auckland’s vibrant past and a flourishing present.
Acting as a inviting centrepiece of the living area, the Minotti Sofa balances traditional silhouette with contemporary styling. The sofa is accompanied by plush Minotti Swivel Armchairs which were recently awarded ‘Best Seating’ in the International Design Awards and can be turned 180 degrees to take in the sublime views of the harbour. Another exquisite piece of furniture art is the limited edition ‘Snoopy’ lamp which was originally designed by Achillee Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1967 and given a matt black finish to celebrate its 50th anniversary. ‘Snoopy’ rests on an oak Minotti Desk overlooking the harbour and city skyline.
The master bedroom features an ensuite with a decadent rain showerhead and a deep soaking bathtub offers serenity complimented by calming marina views.
The Opera Suite is priced from NZ$3,500 per night for two guests, including airport transfers in the hotel’s own Jaguar, or up to four guests with an interconnecting Marina View Room (at an additional cost). Terms and conditions apply.
