To be ready for launch in the 2019 season, Scenic has completed the remodelling of its European river cruise fleet with the addition of Salt Therapy Rooms and a new Royal Owners Suite on board all Scenic Space-Ships cruising Europe’s Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
Scenic is the first and only river cruise line to offer the therapeutic Salt Therapy lounge. The health benefits of salt therapy are well known and wide-ranging, and the three-station salt lounges offer guests a non-invasive way to feel energised and healthier while relaxing. The negatively charged salt ions bear a very high kinetic energy and offer the same refreshing feeling that one might find when standing on a beach. The ions also increase the efficacy of healing, improve respiration and skin conditions and boost the immune system.
The humidity- and temperature-controlled rooms are handcrafted from salt bricks and recreate the micro-climate of a natural salt mine. The three inclined lounging chairs are separated by light curtains for privacy, and low-level lighting and calming music promotes the natural relaxing effects of the salt.
“We trialled Salt Therapy rooms on our two ships in France in 2017,” said Scenic General Manager Product, Lisa Bolton. “These proved so popular, we have now implemented them across the European fleet. Use of the rooms is part of our all-inclusive commitment with guests on board free to use the rooms as they wish, spending up to a recommended 45 minutes in the tranquil and relaxing environment.
“With the growing demand from both our guests and as a worldwide trend towards more wellness activities, the roll-out of these new therapy rooms is perfect timing. They complement our onboard facilities, including a state-of-the-art gym with daily scheduled activities managed by a wellbeing coach,” Bolton said.
In addition to the Salt Therapy rooms, the number of suites on these Scenic Space-Ships will be reduced to allow the addition of a new Royal Owners Suite. The 48-square-metre, one-bedroom suite boasts opulent furnishings and all the ‘extra touches’ for which Scenic is famous.
Ships to be remodelled will include Scenic Ruby, Scenic Pearl, Scenic Jasper, Scenic Opal, Scenic Amber, Scenic Crystal, Scenic Jade and Scenic Jewel.
Scenic has also launched its latest agents incentive offering $100 Scenic Rewards points for any booking on 2019/2020 Europe River cruise product for both Scenic and Evergreen brands. Valid for bookings made and deposited from 1 March and 30 April 2019.
Following on from the successful launch of Scenic Academy which has seen more than 1,000 agents across Australia and New Zealand complete the initial training programs, Scenic has now launched a follow-up incentive.
“The launch training modules on Scenic Academy were all Europe-focused,” said Emma Davie, Director Trade and Agent Partnerships. “With such a high number of agents registering and completing these initial training modules, we thought the timing right to release a further incentive across our Europe river cruise product to test their updated product knowledge.”
To access the incentive, agents simply book and deposit any Scenic or Evergreen 2019/2020 Europe River Cruises by 30 April 2019 and receive bonus $100* Scenic Rewards points per booking.
