New all-inclusive five-star resort for the Maldives

Riu Palace Maldivas launches on the Dhaalu Atoll

Spanish hotelier RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened an all-inclusive, five-star resort on Dhaalu Atoll in the Maldives. Riu Palace Maldivas has been in the pipeline for over seven years and under development for two. The luxury escape offers overwater villas and opens alongside a sister four-star resort callled Riu Atoll.

The two properties, located on two separate islands, are linked by an 800-metre walkway over the water. The 72 suites over the water of the Riu Palace Maldivas are located both sides of this walkway.

Riu Palace Maldivas is also spread on the private island of Kedhigandu. It has a total of 176 rooms, including Junior Suites and overwater suites, some of which have private pools.

Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas offers a range of cuisines. The main restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners with live cooking stations. At the Japanese and Fusion restaurants, guests can enjoy à la carte dishes for dinner.

Riu Atoll is on the private island of Maafushi. The four-star Riu Classic hotel has 264 rooms, 36 of which are over the water. The hotel has a main restaurant, the Dhoni; an Italian restaurant, Sophia; and a steak house, Beef Steak House.

Overwater suite with private pool

The complex has a jetty and a wellness centre that offers various beauty treatments as well as a gym and steam room. The excellent location on two deserted paradise islands offers guests long, dreamlike beaches and water activities to ensure that they can explore the stunning sea surrounding the Maldives.
