Hilton has formally announced the signing of Hilton Melbourne Square, a new 600-room property slated to open in the Victorian capital’s Southbank precinct in early 2023.

The hotelier, which last week celebrated its centenary, will manage the property for Yarra Park City, a joint venture between OSK Property and EPF. The Melbourne addition was flagged by local Hilton executives earlier this year.
Hilton Melbourne Square will be part of the $2.8 billion mixed-use development. It will complement the recently signed Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street which is expected to open later this year.
“Melbourne is an extremely important market and with two new Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties joining our existing DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on Flinders Street, we look forward to welcoming both business and leisure guests to all three unique properties,” said Heidi Kunkel, Vice President, Operations, Australasia, Hilton.
Tan Sri Ong Leong Huat, Chairman, OSK Property, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Hilton on this landmark hotel. This new hotel will offer extensive, state-of-the-art convention facilities capable of hosting the world’s largest conventions in addition to capitalising on a very robust local demand for function facilities.”

The 600-room property will include 28 suites and one Presidential Suite.
Hilton Melbourne Square will join 27 hotels presently operating under the Hilton portfolio throughout Australasia.
