Heritage Line has provided further details on its new luxury vessel, Anouvong, which is scheduled to enter service in the second half of 2020.
The boutique cruise line is expanding its collection of ships in Southeast Asia, with Anouvong to cruise the waters of the Upper Mekong in Laos. The rarely travelled waterway is ideal for a smaller vessel to navigate the golden triangle at the Thai-Lao border in the northwest, to the city of Luang Prabang and through off-the-beaten-track regions to the capital of Laos, Vientiane.
Anouvong will begin sailings on the 29 September 2020. Heritage Line offers two journeys:
Golden Triangle Traverse | Luang Prabang – Huay Xai (or vice versa)
- A shorter trip connecting the Thai/Lao border with the town of Luang Prabang in central Laos. This journey can be booked in both directions with a stay of three nights and offers some remote sailings to meet ethnic tribes and facing spectacular sceneries.
Laotian Serendipity | Vientiane – Luang Prabang – Huay Xai (or vice versa)
- The longer alternative is perfect for cruise ‘fascionadas’, connecting the hub city of Vientiane with the Thai-Lao border. The cruise embraces various activities and sight-seeing along remote river areas, inclusive of a full Luang Prabang discovery at the midpoint of the journey. This cruise can also be booked in both directions (nine-nights upstream, seven-nights downstream).
Anouvong has two passenger decks for accommodation and public facilities and a total of ten cabins: eight luxuriously designed staterooms and two individually designed Signature Suites.
The Deluxe and Deluxe Executive rooms (20 square-metres) feature French balconies and occupy both the main and upper (terrace) decks, with four rooms on each level. The two Signature Suites are located at the front of the main deck and boast 30 square-metres of floor space. Both Signature Suites comprise of a private balcony and a large bathroom with Jacuzzi.
The terrace deck is the highlight of the vessel’s public attractions and is also conveniently connected to the comfortable, laid-back and air-conditioned café-bar lounge. From the shaded sun beds passengers have close-up views of the passing river landscapes and on-shore local life.
In Anouvong’s ‘Bodhi Spa’, various treatments for singles and couples are offered at any time of the day. And the exquisite De-Lagrée Dining Hall, with its expansive glass facades flanking both sides of the venue presents first-class cuisine and dining experiences.
Anouvong is now open for bookings and over the next few months, Heritage Line offers a very special opening rate with a 20% discount on any sailing. Promoted cruise rates start from US$1,044 per person for the 3-night ‘Golden Triangle Traverse’ and US$2,368 for the 7-night ‘Laotian Serendipity’ cruise (or US$3,045 for the 9-night upstream).
