Ponant‘s ninth ship, Le Dumont-d’Urville, has been delivered to the luxury cruise company. Le Dumont-d’Urville is the fourth in the PONANT EXPLORERS series, all of which have been delivered in the last 12 months. She was accepted by the company on 14 June, 2019, departing the port of Søvik in Norway bound for Bergen, ready to commence her maiden cruise.

With just 92 staterooms and suites, all with balconies or private terraces, sleek and elegant exterior lines and a refined design, Le Dumont-d’Urville, is the perfect example of the new generation of ships flying the French flag. All ships in the PONANT EXPLORERS fleet feature the latest technology and innovations while respecting the environment.
Le Dumont-d’Urville’s maiden season will start on 7 August with an eight-night Historic Cities of the Baltic Sea cruise between St Petersburg and the Baltic capitals. The ship will then head for the French coasts and the Mediterranean. With a rich programme of themed cruises, refined dining, wine tasting, music and more, guests on board will be able to combine cultural passions and a love of travel.
The next ship in the PONANT EXPLORERS series, Le Bellot, is scheduled for April 2020. The schedule of delivery is:
- Le Lapérouse – delivered in June 2018
- Le Champlain – delivered in October 2018
- Le Bougainville – delivered in April 2019
- Le Dumont-d’Urville – delivered in June 2019
- Le Bellot – delivery scheduled for April 2020
- Le Jacques-Cartier – delivery scheduled for July 2020
- Le Commandant-Charcot – delivery scheduled for May 2021
