Ponant and Relais & Châteaux have united to introduce three all-new cruise experiences for 2020 through Brittany, Asia and Portugal and Spain. Next year’s program will be just the start, with the companies planning to expand their gastronomy focused voyages further in 2021.
“Through this partnership, we are delighted to offer a unique stay and the best cuisine to our guests at sea,” said Philippe Gombert, President of Relais & Châteaux.
“Ponant’s ships boast exceptional accommodation making every cruise an unforgettable experience. More than just a sense of excellence, we share fundamental values including ethics, commitment and authenticity, which are reflected in the respect of local cultures and heritage, and the protection of the environment. We believe in ethical cuisine. The ocean must now be considered as one of our planet’s most precious ecosystems.”
Jean Emmanuel Sauvée, President and Co-Founder of Ponant said the arrangement with Relais & Châteaux builds on the cruise line’s philosophy to showcase French excellence on the seven seas.
“Our shared values in the protection of the environment, a thrive for excellence in service and gastronomy, the concept of ‘boutique hotel’ that echoes the intimate size of our ship, we have a lot in common enabling us to provide our guests with a unique and refined experience,” said Sauvée.
Relais & Châteaux chefs on board the Ponant ships throughout the cruises will orchestrate two gala dinners and create two new dishes specially for the occasion.
Guests will also be able to attend a culinary demonstration, cooking classes and lectures. Depending on the itineraries, the chef may also be able to invite a few guests to accompany him to the markets and meet local producers.
The itineraries include Ponant’s:
- Seven-night Treasures of Brittany cruise from Saint Malo to Nantes aboard Le Jacques Cartier on 20 September 2020;
- 10-night Canary Islands and Cape Verde voyage between Lisbon and Dakar on Le Dumont D’Urville, on 11 October 2020; and
