Green is the new luxe at The Siam

Safeguarding the environment one bottle at a time

The Siam, Bangkok has partnered with refillasia.com for the regional campaign RefillNotLandfill, which aims to reduce disposable water bottle waste. Together with the Bangkok River Partners, The Siam has pledged to reduce plastic waste with the goal of promoting the Chao Phraya River as a world-class destination for business and leisure.

“We at The Siam have the privilege of being situated next to the beautiful Chao Phraya River, which is such a main focal point and way of life for the city and it is our responsibility to ensure that future generations have the luxury of enjoying the river just as we do today,” explains Nick Downing, General Manager at The Siam.

“Along with the Bangkok River Partners, we are committed to working with the RefillNotLandfill campaign, which has risen to prominence for its drive to reduce disposable water bottle waste in Cambodia. It’s a small but vital change and we will continue to explore new initiatives to contribute even more to environmental conservation efforts.”

As part of the regional campaign RefillNotLandfill, The Siam will provide guests with stainless-steel water bottles that they can refill at designated stations within the property. Water bottles and refill stations are each marked with QR Codes that will reveal a comprehensive map detailing the various refill stations near their current location once scanned.

With this meaningful initiative, The Siam aims to change the mindsets of guests towards the use and consumption of disposable plastic bottles, one bottle at a time.

Other Green Initiatives at The Siam include a push to reduce single-use plastic through eliminating the use of plastic straws, utilising paper or bamboo straws across all its food and beverage establishments, as well as tiffin box carriers for in-room dining, to minimise the use of cling-film wrapping.
