Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC), the government body responsible for the promotion of Maldives as a tourist destination, will host its first-ever Australian roadshow in September. The aptly named Maldives Roadshow will kick off in Perth on 23 September, before heading to Melbourne (25th), and finishing in Sydney on 27 September.
“The Maldives is known for its unique luxury offering which includes everything from high-end resorts and exclusive liveaboard yachts, to underwater restaurants and sensational spas. Australia’s luxury travel industry is key to helping us promote the destination to five-star travellers within the region, and we look forward to meeting with all attendees to answer any questions they might have about our beautiful country,” MMPRC Managing Director, Thoyyib Mohamed explained to LATTE.
Over cocktails and canapes, travel trade representatives can learn about the Maldives’ unique culture and customs, amazing atolls, magical marine life and exciting experiences beyond the bungalows. Along with product immersion, there will be presentations by senior executives from MMPRC and the chance to network with Maldivian resorts, marketing teams and tour groups including:
- Villa Hotels & Resorts
- Malahini Kuda Bandos
- Maldives Getaways
- Travel Connection Maldives
- Voyages Maldives
- Crown & Champa Resorts
- Lux South Ari Atoll
- The Residence Maldives
Registered attendees will also in the running to win a trip for two to the Maldives – including return flights, transfers, accommodation and meals.
Mohamed continued: “The local travel trade is incredibly important in helping us package and promote the four products of the Maldives which are resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards and hotels to Australian audiences. The Roadshow is designed to provide travel agents and advisors, tour operators, DMCs, and travel wholesalers with the tools they need to sell our tourism offering, and answer any questions they may have about the country face-to- face.”
