Langham Hospitality Group has offered a preview of its next big renovation project currently underway in the United States. Scheduled to be completed in 2020, the US$100 million dollar overhaul at The Langham, Boston was previewed this month in Boston Magazine and offers a glimpse of what guests can expect of the upgraded luxury property.

The overhaul will reposition the Boston landmark to become “one of the prominent properties we have in the United States,” says Langham Hospitality’s Director of Design and Construction, Jennyfer Lacroix.
Boston reports that the most notable transformation will be the main entrance to the hotel, which is receiving a new canopy and black awnings in place of the existing signature red installation.
“The lobby will feature subtle nods to the building’s history, including a colour palette inspired by bank notes and, on either side of a chesterfield sofa, lamps befitting an old-fashioned bank teller. While waiting to check in, visitors will also be able to relax in a luxe living-room-like lounge space complete with a fireplace and handmade rugs,” Boston reports.
The property’s 312 rooms and suites will be redesigned with a lighter, more modern look, and will feature hardwood floors and panelled walls. Paintings and photography by New England artists will adorn the walls.
The restoration will see major changes to The Langham, Boston’s meeting and event spaces and a new ballroom will be introduced. Guests will also be able to enjoy an elevated experience at the Langham Club Level, providing a private club setting and offering a diverse mix of privileges.
“It’s really all about positioning the hotel as a place of five-star luxury,” Lacroix told Boston.
According to the hotel’s website, two new dining concepts will be introduced – an eclectic dining venue and a signature cocktail bar at the lobby level.
