Autograph Collection hotel coming to Canberra

The 199-room-and-suite Midnight Hotel will open in Braddon in September 2019

Marriott International will expand add a second Autograph Collection hotel to its Australian portfolio, having inked a deal with Iconic Hotels to debut its first-ever hotel in Canberra. Midnight Hotel, part of Geocon’s $200 million residential and commercial development in Braddon, central Canberra, will open in September 2019.

Autograph Collection’s diverse stable of more than 180 hotels is carefully crafted with vision and passion, making each hotel singular and special. Hand-selected for their inherent craft and distinct perspectives on design and hospitality, Autograph Collection hotels offer enriching experiences that leave a lasting imprint. Midnight Hotel will join the Marriott International brand’s recently renovated Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection.

Designed by acclaimed Australian architects Fender Katsalidis, the 199-room property will offer six room categories: Midnight Classic, Lounge, Midnight Midnight Junior Suite, Midnight Accessible, Midnight Suite and Midnight Clique. Each offers views to the central garden atrium and features walk-in rain shower, espresso machine, complimentary mini bar, STAYCAST by Google Chromecast in-room entertainment, custom made Hunter LAB bathroom amenities and more.

The hotel will also include facilities such as a restaurant, bar, indoor swimming pool, wellness centre, conference and event spaces and a guest lounge.

Owned and managed by Iconic Hotels, Midnight Hotel is the group’s first premium hotel in the market. Since its establishment as an independent local hotel operator in 2010, the group has delivered seven hotels to the accommodation market, and two food and beverage outlets. Midnight Hotel is the first hotel within the Iconic Hotels brand portfolio to sign with a hotel partner.
