Hyatt Hotels Corporation will open its maiden luxury Park Hyatt brand hotel in Auckland on 1 March, 2020, LATTE can exclusively reveal. Located at Wynyard Quarter and overlooking Waitemata Harbour, Park Hyatt Auckland is long overdue, and was initially forecast to welcome guests mid-year 2019.
The NZ$300 million Park Hyatt Auckland broke ground in 2016 and is being constructed by Hawkins and China State Corporation. Once complete it will feature 195 rooms and suites.
There are 13 room configurations available for guests to choose from, starting from the 47-square-metre King Bed room, through to the 71-square-metre Park and Harbour Suites with balconies, to the top-of-the-line 245-square-metre Presidential Suite.
It will feature four restaurants and bars, event spaces, a day spa, fitness centre and a 25-metre infinity pool. Onemata will be the hotel’s signature dining venue, dishing up local produce with menu selections “driven by the farmer, fisherman and seasonal ingredients,” the Park Hyatt Auckland website says. The other restaurants include The Living Room and The Pantry.

According to the hotel’s portal, reservations are now being accepted, however at this stage booking requests are greeted with the message that “unfortunately, this hotel is not available during those dates”.
A message on Park Hyatt Auckland’s LinkedIn profile indicates that reservations will open next week.
