Bali and Phuket added to Vietnam Airlines’ route network

SkyTeam carrier also set to relaunch Da Nang-Bangkok in late October

Vietnam Airlines is introducing new direct flights linking Ho Chi Minh City and Bali and Phuket from 27 October 2019. The new routes bring the popular holiday islands, known for their beaches, food culture and festivals, within a direct flight from Vietnam.

VN will operate flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City on a daily basis, reduced to five times per week from 27 October, 2019 to the end of March 2020. This is the second route launched by Vietnam Airlines that connects Vietnam and Indonesia, following the introduction of flights between Ho Chi Minh City – Jakarta in December 2012 with a frequency of seven flights per week.

The Ho Chi Minh City-Phuket service will initially operate thrice weekly, and is anticipated to move to daily frequencies starting March 2020.

Vietnam Airlines will also resume a daily operation between Da Nang and Bangkok starting 27 October 2019.

“The new routes demonstrate Vietnam Airlines’ commitment in continually expanding our vast network and adding a new level of convenience and flexibility to passengers’ journeys,” said Le Hong Ha, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines.

“Apart from offering new, exciting non-stop services, these routes also facilitate international travellers from Europe, Japan, South Korea and many other parts of the world to easily access famous destinations like Bali and Phuket via Vietnam Airlines’ connecting flights.”

The new and returning routes will be operated with Airbus A321 aircraft.

In celebration of these new flight routes, Vietnam Airlines has launched a promotional program of up to 50% discount on return tickets. From 20 September to 10 November 2019, passengers can purchase round-trip tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket starting from just US$19 and from Ho Chi Minh City to Bali starting from just US$69. From 20 September to 30 November 2019, round-trip tickets on Da Nang – Bangkok are also offered with attractive fares starting from US$15. The rates specified above do not include taxes, fees and surcharges with terms and conditions applied.

US regulator approval

Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines has this month been granted approval from the Trump Administration to begin flights to the United States. The licence permits the airline to fly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle and Dallas/Fort Worth.
