American luxury cruise line Mystic Cruises USA has rebranded as Atlas Ocean Voyages and will establish a headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Parent company Mystic Invest Holding revealed the strategy late last week. Mystic Invest operates the third largest river cruise fleet in the world, in addition to hotels, attractions, helicopter tours and now, ocean ships.
Mystic Invest announced two ships for its new expedition fleet last year: World Explorer and World Navigator. The vessels will offer a “world class luxury service”, the Portuguese company boasts, offering balcony suites and “innovative” infinity suites.
The ships will offer a glass dome in its Observation Lounge and a “well” that will provide views beneath the vessel itself. Both will offer a hybrid propulsion system that has been designed in partnership with Rolls-Royce. A rooftop helipad suggests the ships will also provide guests with helicopter touring options.
“Atlas Ocean Voyages will bring inspired travellers on authentic and luxurious adventures around the world,” said Mystic Invest Chairman Mário Ferreira. “We adjusted our brand name to better reflect the distinctive and luxurious global experiences that North American guests will enjoy. And to bring our unique adventure-cruising vision to life, we’ve assembled a highly skilled team of experienced industry professionals to lead our operations in Fort Lauderdale. I am confident that travellers will delight in exploring the world in the new immersive and active way that only Atlas Ocean Voyages can deliver.”
Leading the rebranded cruise line will be Alberto Aliberti as President of Atlas Ocean Voyages. Aliberti’s experience includes nearly 15 years with Mystic Invest and its river-cruise company DouroAzul, along with stints at Seabourn and Cunard.
Lisa Auguste is the Vice President of Operations and responsible for establishing the adventure cruise line’s Fort Lauderdale headquarters. Most recently, Auguste was Vice President of Oceania and Regent Seven Seas’ International division.
Atlas Ocean Voyages’ Vice President of Sales and Trade Partnerships is Brandon Townsley. Brandon’s tenured career in the cruise industry includes sales and revenue positions at Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, and Virgin Voyages.
Atlas Ocean Voyages is innovating the industry by focusing on authentic, active and adventurous experiences in some of the world’s most captivating destinations, such as Antarctica, the Baltic, the Mediterranean, and Central and South America. Atlas Ocean Voyages’ World Navigator is currently under construction at WestSea Viana shipyard in Portugal and scheduled to launch in mid-2021.
