Virgin Voyages has revealed that a luxurious champagne lounge and caviar bar will debut on its first ship, Scarlet Lady, set to commence operation in April 2020. Aptly named Sip, the decadent lounge has been designed to be enjoyed with a chilled glass of bubbles.
Sip will offer a range of Champagne labels, including Moët Chandon, priced from US$9 a glass through to a $1,000 vintage bottle. In a nod to Virgin’s quintessentially British heritage and eccentricity, Sip will also offer a signature afternoon high tea.
Passengers, or “sailors” (as Virgin Voyages refers to its guests) on board Scarlet Lady, will also be able to have Champagne delivered to them wherever they are onboard the ship by shaking their mobile phone.
The champagne delivery service is called ‘Shake for Champagne’ and can be accessed via the Virgin Voyages Sailor App. By activating the ‘secret’ on-demand Champagne service, guests simply rattle their handheld device and a bottle of Möet Chandon Impérial will be delivered.
“It is never too early for champagne and there is always something to toast to while aboard Scarlet Lady. We want our Sailors to enjoy a glamorous holiday and what better way to feel like a RockStar than a sip of bubbly whenever and wherever you want it,” said Tom Mcalpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages.

The 750ml bottle of Möet Chandon Imperial will be delivered in a Virgin red champagne bucket with two glasses.
To celebrate Virgin Voyages’ inaugural season, from now until 30 November, guests who book April or May sailings will receive a complimentary special Virgin Voyages limited-edition bottle of Möet Chandon Imperial in their cabin upon their arrival.
