Travel advisors taste the high-life aboard Scenic Eclipse

Port Antonio, Montego Bay and Guanaja Island all discovered

LATTE has this week joined a group of Scenic‘s top-selling travel advisors from Australia and New Zealand who are hard at work at the moment, road testing Scenic Eclipse on her inaugural voyage through the Caribbean.

Boarding the ultra-luxury six-star ship in Port Antonio in Jamaica, the group has been blown away, not least by the number of helicopter rotations being taken by guests at each port visited, but by the sheer level of sophistication and luxuriousness found on board.

Scenic Eclipse has been built to stand out, while providing the absolute highest level of luxury and service guests would expect to find on a much smaller sized, private yacht operating from a marina in Monaco.

Famil participants have enjoyed first-class service onboard this 228-passenger capacity ship at every corner, with some taking the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ‘toys’ found on board, including the U-Boat Worx six-passenger submarine. Others have donned the sportswear and are actively participating in the daily yoga and pilates courses offered on board. And all have been indulging in the fine-dining cuisine, wines and spirits from around the globe being served throughout the day.

A port call at Montego Bay in Jamaica on Monday gave the group an opportunity to participate in a full-day tour to the home of Bob Marley, or take a leisurely bamboo raft trip down one of the many rivers that snakes its way through the lush green island.

Eclipse has been built with the polar caps in mind, but the yacht is proving to be a star with local communities she visits, especially in the remote locations other mega-ships just can’t access, such as Port Antonio and today’s stop in Honduras for a visit to Guanaja Island. Accessed by zodiacs, Guanaja Island is a lesser-known and -accessed port in the Caribbean, and Scenic Eclipse guests had the destination virtually to themselves.
