The Kempinski Group says it expects to have more than 100 luxury hotels in operation globally by 2021. In the next 12 months, nine new hotels and close to 2,000 rooms and suites will open their doors: three of them in the Caribbean and one hotel in Tel Aviv, Tbilisi, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Brazzaville and Almaty respectively.
The latest addition is Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski in Dominica (gallery below). It is the first major branded hotel to be completed in Dominica and will be a major boost for the economy of the island.
The Cabrits Resort, set on Douglas Bay and surrounded by Dominica’s stunning Cabrits National Park near Portsmouth, has 160 keys, four restaurants and bars, four swimming pools, fitness facilities that include a spa, and tennis courts.
Kempinski has a further seven hotels (with a total of 2,404 rooms) currently under construction.
Additionally, the Kempinski Hotels portfolio will be complemented by a hotel in New York for the first time in the company’s 122-year history. The latter is part of a strategic partnership signed with the 12.18. Investment Group, which along with the acquisition of San Carlos Hotel in New York City, will develop and open twenty 7Pines Kempinski Hotels together with Kempinski until 2022.
7Pines Ibiza will reopen in spring 2020 under the name 7Pines Kempinski Ibiza, followed by another resort in Sardinia.
Kempinski Group will also eye an acquisition of further hotel properties, in particular, properties that may be extensively renovated and then repositioned under the group’s own brands.
