Marriott International has been recognised by global workplace researcher Aon as a ‘Best Employer’ in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, as part of its annual Aon Best Employers program.
The Best Employers program celebrates the achievements of organisations that demonstrate excellence in the workplace, evaluating participants on employee engagement, leadership, agility and talent focus.
2019 marks the sixth year Marriott has been included in the Best Employer list; the only company to receive this recognition every year since the inception of the program. It also marks the first year Marriott International has been named a Best Employer in New Zealand, following the company’s entry into the market in 2018 with Four Points by Sheraton, Auckland.
The accolades come as testament to Marriott International’s ongoing commitment to its associates and their success in both their professional and personal lives.
“Marriott International is a people-first company. We believe in taking care of our associates, so they in turn take care of our guests. It’s embedded in our DNA,” said Natasha Rasheed, Area Director of Human Resources, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Marriott International. “We have a big focus on training and development opportunities for our associates, as well as programs for mentoring, wellbeing and more. We are pleased to again be recognised by Aon as a Best Employer, which is testament to our culture of taking care of our associates.”
Marriott International has 32 hotels and resorts across ten brands in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, with a further 22 hotels in the pipeline – representing a further 2,500 jobs.
In addition to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, Marriott International was recognised as Best Employer in a further 15 markets in Asia Pacific: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
