InterContinental Fiji names new GM

Lachlan Walker to also lead IHG's South Pacific portfolio

Lachlan Walker has been named as the new General Manager at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, as well as Area General Manager of IHG’s hotels in the South Pacific, including the Holiday Inn Suva and Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu.

Walker joins the resort with a wealth of international experience, a strong commercial acumen and a respected background as a hotel leader. His 30-year career has seen him work in across a number of markets and brands, including at Four Seasons Hotels, Park Hyatt, Accor, Starwood and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where he was most recently Area General Manager, Regional New South Wales.

“Fiji was the second country I visited on my first ever overseas trip as a child. I fell in love with both Fiji and the hospitality industry immediately and could never have imagined that I’d have the opportunity to combine the two and return so many years later in a professional capacity – especially to a resort with such an unrivalled reputation. My career has been a colourful and exciting journey and now I am thrilled to work alongside the teams in Fiji and Vanuatu to take the South Pacific portfolio to even greater heights,” he said.

He will be based at the resort on Fiji’s Natadola Bay, taking over from previous GM Andrew Davidson, who has moved to Vietnam to take on a new role as Area General Manager with IHG.
