Qatar Airways‘ passengers will be able to access a handful of new destinations in German via a codeshare partnership that has been struck with with Deutsche Bahn.
The codeshare partnership between the Gulf carrier and railway operator adds seven new German cities to Qatar Airways’ network – Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Hannover, Leipzig, Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Hamburg – via Frankfurt, which it operates to twice daily. Munich is also accessible through the Deutsche Bahn rail network, a city QR operates directly to from Doha on a twice daily basis. The airline also operates a daily service to Berlin.
“This codeshare agreement between Qatar Airways and Deutsche Bahn further strengthens the ties between Germany and Qatar,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker.
“We have witnessed significant growing demand between Germany to Qatar and beyond. Our new codeshare destinations not only meet that demand, but provide a service for our valued passengers in Doha, and from dozens of destinations globally to new, exciting places to explore in Germany.”
The arrangement ramps up the pairs “successful” and long-standing Rail&Fly cooperation, Deutsche Bahn executive Berthold Huber said.
