This Friday 13 March 2020, Bench Africa will bid farewell to General Manager Martin Edwards as he takes up a new challenge in the industry. Edwards joined Bench over 10 years ago and has been at the helm over a period of rapid growth and success for Bench Africa.
“On a personal note, he has created an atmosphere of warmth and trust with each member of staff. It’s been a great joy to work alongside Martin and he will always be part of the Bench Family. We look forward to watching him grow and seeing where his new adventures take him,” said Julie De Palo, Group and Operations Director.
Taking the reins and stepping into the General Manager role is Cameron Neill, who is currently Bench Africa’s Trade Relations Manager. Neill has a long history with the company having started as a Victorian Sales Manager almost eight years ago.

His travel industry career began at Flight Centre where he was a Senior Travel Consultant for two years before taking on a Business Development Manager role with the now defunct Kumuka.

Neill was responsible for the creation and development of Bench Africa’s online training program, Safari School as well as other key projects.
“Cameron is a strong communicator and has a solid understanding of our product and markets and we are blessed to have someone with his experience step up to lead the team at Bench Africa,” said Chairman, Mike Kirkland. “Cameron has a proven track record and we look forward to him leading the team with his trademark dynamism when he makes the move from Melbourne to Sydney in April.”
Neill said, “It’s a great honour to be appointed General Manager of a company I hold so dear and I am looking forward to working with the entire Bench family and following Martin’s lead for another decade of success. After 51 years of business we are stronger than ever and the potential for the next 51 is extremely exciting to be a part of”.
