Tourism Fiji will wrap up a week-long famil for 45 Australian Matai Agents today [Friday 13 March] in Nadi. All participants successfully completed Tourism Fiji’s Matai Training Program.
The travel agents enjoyed a special opening welcome dinner at Rhum-Ba at Denarau Marina on the first night of the trip, which was followed the next day by a full-day Matai Conference at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa where they had the chance to meet with suppliers. That evening the group relaxed at Sofitel’s Waitui Beach Club.
Hosting the Matai Agents were Tourism Fiji’s Jason Sacriz, Trade Partnerships Manager; David McMahon, Qld, NSW, ACT State Manager; and Kara Nelson, Vic, SA, Tas State Manager.
Following the ‘work’ component of the Matai Famil, the troupe divided into smaller groups and explored Fiji on five set itineraries focused on luxury, the Mamanuca Islands, the Coral Coast, the Yasawa Islands and the South Coast. Those itineraries included multiple hotel and resort visits, including the following partners:
Luxury – Tokoriki Island Resort, VOMO, Six Senses, Pullman Nadi
Mamanuca Islands – Matamanoa, Castaway, Malolo Island, Plantation Island Resort
Coral Coast – Double Tree by Hilton, Hideaway, Marriott Momi Bay, Outrigger
