Hilton will introduce a new flagship property in the Asia when it relaunches the landmark Mandarin Orchard Singapore by Meritus under its own namesake in 2022.
OUE Limited has entered into a deal with Conrad International Management Services (Hilton) to rebrand and upgrade the property as Hilton Singapore Orchard. Featuring 1,080 rooms and suites, Hilton Singapore Orchard will be the largest Hilton hotel in Asia-Pacific.
The repositioning to an “upper upscale hotel”, Hilton will see the hotel aim to capitalise on the vast global reach of the group’s loyalty scheme, Hilton Honors, which has more than 100 million members.
A refurbishment of the property will include new meeting facilities and a refreshed food and beverage offering to cater for the MICE market. Taking advantage of the “current challenges” and downturn in travel due to COVID-19, work is planned to commence imminently and run through until the end of 2021.

“For the customer, this new chapter translates to exceptional service experiences synonymous with the Hilton brand. For our employees, being part of an international hotel chain offers tremendous opportunities for career growth and development,” said Brian Riady, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of OUE.
OUE’s Chief Executive Officer Tan Shu Lin said: “The current challenges faced by the Singapore hospitality sector also present a timely opportunity for us to carry out the extensive renovations, with the rebranded hotel expected to be ready in time to take advantage of the sector’s anticipated recovery.”
During the 18-month upgrade, the property will continue to operate as Mandarin Orchard Singapore.
