Sri Lanka is a jewel nestled in the Indian Ocean, full of culture and diversity. It has been a strategic location throughout the centuries as one of the key ports on the silk and spice roads. The island is renowned for its famous Ceylon Tea, a myriad of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wildlife, waterfalls, beaches, cuisine and, most importantly, its hospitality. These factors have paved the way for the island to become one of the most attractive destinations in the world. Authenticities’ Ladies Adventure Group itinerary is comprised of an assortment of adventure, culture, history and local cuisine.

Guests commence their enchanted journey on this paradise island with a night by the golden beaches of Negombo. After breakfast the following morning, they head on to the Cultural Triangle for the next two nights. Here they visit the ancient kingdoms of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, which were the first and second historic capitals of the island. Guests will witness the amazing elephant gathering in the Minneriya National Park, climb the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, visit the serene Dambulla Cave Temple and the Pidurangala Rock, where they will get to relish a jaw-dropping vista of Sigiriya. Amid all the culture and history, they will enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch at a farmer’s house overlooking the paddy fields.

Heading south to the hill capital of Kandy, guests stopover in the town of Matale, famed for its spice plantations. Here they will widen their senses as they learn how these spices are grown, used in local cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine.

Kandy and Buddhism go hand in hand as it is home to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, a sacred Buddhist temple. After settling in, guests explore the local bazaars and the sacred temple, then change gear for some thrills and excitement! Firstly making their way to the rapids of Kitulgala, they will engage in an adrenaline-filled day whitewater rafting and canyoning in the Kelani River. The following day, they will head east into the Knuckles Mountain Range, where they will immerse themselves in stunning beauty and tranquility as they trek up the range and marvel at the splendid views.

The thrill-seeking continues in Ella, as guests climb, trek, zip line and take in awe-inspiring views.

Leaving the hills behind, guests head to the southern coast, home to the Yala National Park, known for having the highest leopard density in the world. Guests may also spot wild elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and a variety of endemic birds, during two game drives in the park.
