Silversea confidence continues to build

Close to home sailings proving popular for small ship luxury cruise operator

Silversea Cruises has broadened its Cruise with Confidence program to all voyages departing prior to 30 April 2021. The initiative aims to instil confidence for travellers to make future cruise plans with peace of mind.

Launched in early March, the program offers guests the flexibility to cancel their cruise for any reason up to 48 hours prior to sailing and receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit for the amount paid, valid for two years from the date of issue.

When guests opt for the Future Cruise Credit and have paid in full, the travel agent’s commission is protected for both the cancelled booking and the future reservation on which the correlating Future Cruise Credit is applied.

Positive Future Outlook

Recent booking trends indicate travellers have growing confidence in departures for 2021 and Summer 2021/2022. Silversea’s extension of the ‘Cruise with Confidence’ initiative on departures up to 30 April 2021, will provide greater confidence to travellers looking to travel in early 2021.

As expected, valued members of Silversea’s loyalty program, the Venetian Society, are showing the greatest propensity to book, demonstrating great confidence in the cruise line’s healthy return to service, when the time is right.

Popular Destinations

Close to home voyages for Australia and New Zealand are proving to be popular representing nearly a third of bookings, closely followed by Europe. Expedition cruises have also been performing well and are expected to continue to rebound strongly as guests search for nature, wildlife and open spaces.

“It is encouraging to see that even in these times of uncertainty, our recent booking patterns suggest our travel partners and their clients are taking advantage of the policies that we have put in place, and are looking to the future of cruising with optimism,” said Adam Radwanski, Managing Director Asia Pacific. “We know that that our Venetian Society members are explorers at heart and are keen to plan their next adventure”.

“Though these difficult times have created unique challenges for our industry, by working closely with our valued travel partners, we will continue to provide supportive initiatives such as our Cruise with Confidence and Double bonus offer to help boost their business”.

Double Bonus offer extension

Providing a further incentive that can be leveraged by travel advisors, Silversea has also extended its Double bonus offer. The offer features a reduced deposit of AU$1,500 per suite for any new booking made before 31 August 2020. Guests who redeem this offer will also receive US$1,000 Shipboard Spending Credit per suite.

The Double Bonus offer applies to all Silversea voyages with the exception of full World Cruises and Grand Voyages. Guests in possession of Future Cruise Credit can also use their credit to take advantage of the offer.

The Double Bonus promotion offer is also combinable with Early Booking bonus – guests receive 10% savings for cruises departing from 1 November onwards if paid in full by 31 August 2020.
