Tourism NZ rolls out new trade campaign

Messages from New Zealand industry partners aim to provide encouragement

Tourism New Zealand has kicked off spring in the Southern Hemisphere by releasing a first of its kind marketing campaign, sharing messages of inspiration and encouragement from the voices of New Zealand’s travel industry to their global partners.

With widespread travel restrictions still remaining active, the ‘Messages from New Zealand’ campaign aims to connect and support the travel industry, ahead of international borders reopening.

“This campaign is unique because there is no immediate call to action,” said Andrew Waddel, General Manager Australia, Tourism New Zealand.

“While international travel is restricted, we’re committed to showcasing New Zealand and keeping it fresh for Australian travel agents and their clients. Then, as we get closer to reopening, to help travel agents convert their clients’ desire into booking and visiting New Zealand.”

Messages from New Zealand presents a themed video series of vignettes from tourism operators around New Zealand speaking directly to travel agents and answering the question: “If we could encourage your clients to look forward to one thing in New Zealand, what would it be?”

Over the next few months, Australian travel agents will be introduced to operators from across the country. From sampling the unique flavours of craft beer at Emerson’s Brewery in Dunedin with Greg to exploring National Parks from the air, land and sea, New Zealand’s warm and welcoming hosts will be showcasing the best experiences across the North and South Islands.

A message from New Zealand | Relaxation and Romance

Alongside an introduction to welcoming hosts in New Zealand, travel agents will also have the opportunity to tune into a monthly educational webinar, enter incentives and have the chance to join a virtual famil, with a full sensory experience they’ll see, hear, smell and taste the flavours of New Zealand.

To support New Zealand trade partners in the market, there are marketing campaign assets available for travel businesses to adapt for their own marketing channels.

Messages from New Zealand runs until April 2021. It will be distributed via dedicated travel trade platforms.
