British Airways will take its popular ‘Flying with Confidence’ course online for the first time ever next month, offering customers the chance to participate in the program from the comfort of home.
Since its inception over 35 years ago, more than 50,000 people have taken part in the Flying with Confidence course. Typically, the course has been run in a classroom format followed by a short flight the next day. In 2020, the program will be offered as a live interactive webinar which will explain in every detail how an aircraft flies, why turbulence is not dangerous, simple breathing techniques and managing anxiety.
“British Airways recognises that around 25% of people have at least some fear of flying, while one in 10 people have a phobia of flying. In addition, flyers are now having to navigate travel in the COVID-19 era, so the course will also cover all the safety measures put in place by British Airways both on the ground and in the air, to help give travellers from around the world the confidence to fly again,” the English airline said.
The live webinar runs from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 10 October UK time (7:00pm AEST) and costs £125. Obviously, due to bans on international travel for Australians, the flight component is not accessible for Aussies.
