Capacity increase planned for The Beaumont

London Mayfair five-star hotel expanding into adjacent Art Deco warehouse

London’s independently owned and operated five-star hotel, The Beaumont, has revealed plans to increase its room count through the addition of an adjacent warehouse building located behind the property.

Currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the travel lull has proven to be the “ideal opportunity” for The Beaumont to commence work on the long-planned improvements, the hotel announced on social media.

A member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts‘ top-tiered Legend collection, as well as a Virtuoso preferred partner, the six-year-old luxury property features 50 rooms and 23 suites and occupies a historic 1926 building in the centre of Mayfair in the UK capital.

The neighbouring Art Deco-style warehouse will be home to 25 new one-bedroom suites, offering views of Brown Hart Gardens.

Other hotel enhancements will include a soft refurbishment of the Cub Room, the Magritte Bar and The Colony New York-styled grill, along with enlarging the hotel’s existing gym.

The Beaumont will remain closed throughout the upgrade and expansion project, and has earmarked a late spring 2021 reopening. Hotel staff will be retained throughout the temporary closure.
