Bespoke Italian tour operator, Florencetown, has introduced a new full-day experience exploring the vineyards and landscapes outside of Florence. The off-road adventure is ideal for the post-COVID traveller keen on smaller, more intimate groups that are far away from the hustle and bustle of city and mainstay tourist attractions.
FlorenceTown’s new semi-private seven-hour Tuscan Winery Safari is an off-road wine journey in a state-of-the-art Range Rover Discovery through the Chianti hills. Operating from Florence in a private mini-van, guests are then transferred to their Range Rover on the outskirts of town where they embark on a unique wine and food off-road tour that visits a Chianti farmhouse and cellar and explores a medieval castle. Also included is a picnic with wine for a snack and a three-course Tuscan light lunch.

Guests travel along winding roads lined by swaying cypress trees to an authentic period farmhouse, passing by quaint villages, golden meadows, vineyards and a magnificent ancient abbey dating back to the 13th century along the way.
The Tuscan Winery Safari operates daily from April through to October, departing at 9.30am, and is priced at €199 per person. Led by an English-speaking guide, the trip accommodates a maximum of seven guests per tour. The itinerary is also able to be upgraded to a private experience for couples, families and friends.

Florencetown is a Virtuoso Preferred Partner. It operates a suite of touring options through Tuscany and its surrounds and was the first company to start Vespa Tours of the Italian city 11 years ago. Another recently introduced program is its guided bike tours, dubbed I Bike Florence. Outside Florence, Florencetown also organises tours in Rome, Venice, Milan, Cinque Terre and throughout Sicily and the Amalfi Coast.
