A total immersion of the five senses in Italy

Italy my Way introduces a sensory overload experience in Tuscany

Italy my Way has created a new travel experience formula which can be held over one day or several days. Following the coronavirus lockdown, our body and mind is now craving freedom and full possession of all those emotions and sensations that have not been exercised during the past months.

For this reason, the boutique Italian travel company, thanks to its long experience as an organiser of trips and events in Italy for over 25 years, wanted to create an experience that goes beyond a single activity or be enjoyed in a single day. The program aims to create activities that connect with all five senses.

In the morning guests are picked up and taken to the countryside where their sensory adventure begins:

A walk among vineyards and olive trees (and a little stretching and some Tai Chi Quan activities) will free the mind and body from bad thoughts, aid restless sleep, optimise breathing, allow for free movement and open all the sensory doors. The beauty of the many colours of the hilly landscape will be food for the eyes and will allow guests the freedom and space to process thoughts and feelings.

Meet your new friends, truffle dogs as well as a truffle hunter, who will escort guests in search of culinary gold. During the search, the ‘trifolao’ will guide guests through the scents of nature, smelling aromatic herbs, leaves and flowers found during the walk, and explaining the variety of uses for each. For fortunate guests, truffles may be located… prepare for an explosion of smell!

That’s not all. In a large kitchen of a country house, a friend of Italy my Way, Gioia, will introduce guests to the secrets of pasta: how to knead it, how to smooth it and how to create tagliatelle or tortellini. Hands will become working tools, and guests will get them no doubt get them dirty, but in the best way possible.

Slowly and progressively, the background music will guide guests through the harmonious creation of the products through to the satisfactory finish.

Gioia will teach guests how to cook what they have created and, surprise, they will be blindfolded to enjoy the first few moments of the crowning victory of this sensory experience: tasting the truffle.
