Dining with a view: The rooftops of Florence

Italy my Way introduces four venues to enjoy scenic vistas while dining

Dining on the rooftops of Florence is among one of the most romantic experiences visitors can enjoy in the city.

In the capital of the Renaissance, travellers can get lost in its narrow streets and magically find themselves in front of Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti or even the Duomo. But how to see them in a single glance? Obviously, head to one of the magnificent terraces for a candlelit dinner with breathtaking views.

Whether your clients are celebrating a special date, an anniversary, surprising a partner with an engagement ring or organising a fabulous Valentine’s Dinner, Florence is the perfect setting.

Italy my Way, a bespoke destination management company, has a selection of the very best locations to offer your clients.

La Leggenda dei Frati

In Costa S. Giorgio, on a narrow road from Ponte Vecchio that climbs a hill into the Forte Belvedere, there is the secret garden of Villa Bardini, an ancient house inhabited in the last century by one of the most famous art collectors of Florence. Today, the villa hosts a family of chefs dishing up the taste and tradition of the most refined Tuscan cuisine. The one-Michelin-starred La Leggenda dei Frati by Filippo Saporito mixes a love for haute cuisine with modern and contemporary art.

Relying on a tasting itinerary – from the classic to the most creative – the best choice to make sure you truly experience what this restaurant has to offer, as it involves all the senses. The dishes are not only world-class, but they are also beautiful to look at.

Se.Sto on Arno

The second roof is Se.Sto on Arno, located on the sixth floor of The Westin Excelsior. The two terraces are covered by futuristic glass windows, allowing guests to enjoy unforgettable vistas of Florence, the Arno River and the hills that surround it.

The cuisine reflects the aesthetics of the environment thanks to chef Marco Migliorati, who presents the highest quality raw produce with passion and precision, but also with a multi-ethnic twist, thus offering a harmonious and whimsical menu.

Tosca & Nino

Not just a restaurant, but a bakery, café, and wine and gastronomy shop, this third address is a concept store entirely “made in Tuscany “. TOSCA & NINO opens its doors to Florentine and international guests in the centrally located Piazza della Repubblica on the fourth and fifth floor of the Rinascente Building.

Here, diners can relax while eating, savouring the specialities of Tuscan tradition, accompanied by a glass of good wine or a thirst-quenching cocktail made with liqueurs strictly produced in Tuscany. Guests can also go inside to peruse the shelves of household and food items. Going out on the terrace to the right, your eyes will be drawn to the Brunelleschi dome, like a kiss on the forehead!

Osteria delle Tre Panche

For truffle lovers, Italy my Way suggests Osteria delle Tre Panche, located on the top of the Hotel Hermitage in front of Ponte Vecchio. Following the incredible success of the opening of a pop-up restaurant at the Chefs Club in New York, the artisans of taste, Vieri and Andrea, decided to only use fresh ingredients selected from trusted local producers to always guarantee the same level of excellence.

Enjoy the view and the palate!
