Hyatt Hotel Corporation has announced a new London hotel, Park Hyatt London River Thames. The move marks a retun to the UK market when the hotel opens in 2022.
The new waterfront property will be part of the 18-building Nine Elms development on the river’s south bank. It will sit directly opposite Westminster.
Called the One Thames City, the property will feature a 43-storey River Tower and a 58-storey City Tower. The shorter of the two towers will feature 109 residential apartments and the Park Hyatt hotel.
The 203 room Park Hyatt London River Thames will occupy the first 18 floors of the smaller tower. The tower will also include two restaurants, spa, pool and conference facilities on the lower levels.
Development marks a return to the city for Park Hyatt
“The addition of the Park Hyatt brand to London is a key milestone for Hyatt,” said Felicity Black-Roberts, Vice President of development Europe, Hyatt.
“It has always been a priority to bring our luxury Park Hyatt brand back to London, so this is a fantastic opportunity for us. We are excited to continue and expand on Hyatt’s relationship with R&F by bringing this new exciting hotel to London.”
The Northern Line London Underground extension will be operational by the time the hotel opens (assuming construction on the line runs to schedule). Its entrance will be located within a few minutes’ walk of both hotels. The new line will connect Nine Elms with the city and West End in under 15 minutes.
The London property will join Park Hyatt’s global stable of 47 hotels, which include the close-to-home landmark Park Hyatt Sydney, Park Hyatt Melbourne, Hyatt Hotel Canberra and recently opened Park Hyatt Auckland.
