Aman has confirmed a revised opening date for its next US property, Aman New York, now set to welcome guests from spring 2021.
The ultra-luxury hotel was originally on track for a Q4 2020 debut before the pandemic saw businesses in New York virtually ground to a halt for an extended period of time.
Aman New York signifies renewal on many levels, and will breathe new life into Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building.

Located at the junction of 730 Fifth Avenue and 57th and 5th Street, one of the finest corners in the world, the Aman New York’s opening coincides with the Crown Building’s 100th anniversary.
Aman New York will offer unparalleled service, world-class dining and entertainment venues, a comprehensive Aman Spa and exclusive branded residences – the very first urban Aman Residences worldwide.
The property will comprise 83 elegant guest rooms and suites, each with a functioning fireplace – something of a rarity in New York.
In addition, Aman New York will house just 22 private branded residences, many with spacious outdoor terraces, including a one-of-a-kind, five-storey penthouse. Guests and residents will have access to unrivalled facilities, including three principal dining venues, a jazz club and the 2,300-square-metre Aman Spa – it will also be home to an Aman Club for members.

Restaurants and bars
Bringing authentic omakase (chef-chosen) washoku cuisine to Manhattan, Aman’s signature fine-dining Japanese restaurant, Nama, will serve exquisite sushi and sashimi at its live-cooking counter and on its outdoor terrace.
The Wine Library, Aman New York’s wine cellar, will sit adjacent to Nama and will be available for private wine tastings and events.
Arva, Aman’s signature Italian restaurant, will offer exceptional all-day dining both within the airy restaurant and on the wraparound garden terrace, which claims views of Central Park.
The Bar will serve cocktails created by award-winning mixologists, as well as craft beers and gin from leading local breweries and distilleries, and a global selection of fine wines; the addition of a Cigar Bar, provides an al fresco terrace.
With the importance of focusing on personal wellbeing never more apparent, Aman New York will bring to life the fullest expression of the Aman Urban Wellness concept. Extending over three-storeys, the Aman Spa will be the brand’s new flagship wellness centre for the western hemisphere – a serene haven for hotel guests, residence owners and Aman Club members.
Encompassing three rooms dedicated to consultation, examination and therapy, the Aman Spa will be home to seven spa treatment suites and two unique Banya and Hammam Spa Houses – ideal for half and full-day experiences. Each Spa House has its own private outdoor relaxation terrace with hot and cold plunge pools.
Other spa facilities will include a 20-metre indoor swimming pool lined with double daybeds around fire pits.
Aman New York will be the hospitality company’s third property in the United States, joining Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah, and Amangari in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
