Chic retreat for two debuts in Tasmania’s North West

The Ship Inn Stanley opens stylish Van Diemen's Apartment

Ship Inn Stanley in Tasmania’s North West has recently expanded its inventory, capitalising on the regional tourism boom.

Local owners Kerry and Alastair Houston have introduced a new high-end apartment designed as a spacious retreat for two at the 1849 boutique guest house

This hideaway on the second storey of the inn tells the story of the bond store belonging to the Van Diemen’s Land Company, explains Kerry Houston.

“The apartment has a beautiful view of the store itself – a place that has long held local secrets, stories and promises. Time spent here will quickly take your thoughts away from the every day and lose them in the myriad of challenges that the early settlers faced.”

Like all suites at the property, The Van Diemen’s Apartment is bathed in timeless elegance, featuring historical artefacts, original artwork and custom fittings.

In addition to the elegant coastal style that the Ship Inn Stanley has become known for, Van Diemen’s Apartment offers sweeping views of the sea, fully accessible facilities and a sheltered undercover patio with majestic views of The Nut.

The Ship Inn Stanley is centrally located in the historic coastal town of Stanley, four and a half hours drive from Hobart, two and a half hours from Launceston and one and a half hours from Devonport.

The Inn can sleep up to 20 guests and is ideal for those wanting to book out the entire accommodation to make private use of the facilities on offer.

The Ship Inn Stanley provides a commission to travel advisors and is listed on Tas Vacations.
