Viking has reported a groundswell in interest for its Egypt river cruise program. Sales have spiked 25% in recent weeks after the cruise company announced in late January a new addition to its fleet – Viking Aton.
“The expansion to our Egypt fleet with the debut of Viking Aton in September 2022 has generated a significant surge in interest and bookings from the ANZ market who are keener than ever to explore this fascinating country,” said Michelle Black, Viking ANZ Managing Director.
“Viking has invested heavily into this region and is the first and only Western company to build, own and operate ships on the Nile, and the addition of Viking Aton takes our Egypt river fleet to three, alongside Viking Osiris and Viking Ra.”
“We have also secured exclusive docking rights near Karnak Temple in Luxor, one of the region’s highlights, meaning no double docking for our ships on the Nile; ensuring faster and safer embarkation and disembarkation for our guests – and the ability to get right to the heart of key sites.”
Black said Egypt remains a top destination for Australian travellers who are inspired to learn about the country’s rich history.
“We will always maintain our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that are focused on the destination, and as the Thinking Person’s Cruise, Viking is able to provide a truly unique experience in Egypt allowing our guests to delve deeper into the destination,” she said.
As a special launch offer, Viking is currently offering savings of up to $2,000 per couple on the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. Prices start from $7,295per person, valid for bookings made up until 31 March 2021.
