Abercrombie & Kent has introduced a new eight-country, 23-day air itinerary across the northern hemisphere that will explore Taiwan, Nepal, Bhutan, India, Uzbekistan, UAE, Jordan and Italy.
Scheduled to operate between 5-27 May 2022, the ‘Cultural Treasures: Around the World by Private Jet’ trip is limited to just 48 guests in a chartered Boeing 757-200ER aircraft.
This epic journey takes a stroll through Taipei’s historic heritage district with a special after-hours visit to the National Palace Museum; there’s a thrilling helicopter flight around Mount Everest; and a hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, a sacred Buddhist outpost perched on a remote cliffside above Bhutan’s Paro Valley.
In India, guests will sit down to a dinner inspired by Agra’s local bazaar, and view the Taj Mahal at sunrise; a private concert with fire jugglers and a fashion show celebrates Samarkand’s Silk Road heritage in Registan Square.
There’s a camel-back polo match in Dubai, and an evening under the stars at a private desert camp outside Abu Dhabi; Jordan’s Wadi Rum provides an exhilarating 4WD exploration while a local archaeologist reveals Petra in all its glory. In Sicily travellers take the wheel of an Alfa Romeo or Fiat 500, stopping to see a traditional opera dei pupi, and enjoy a wedding-themed celebration.
Commencing from Seattle and concluding in Boston, the tour is led by experts handpicked for their deep understanding of local cultures and will see guests staying in unique and luxurious accommodations.
Guests can personalise their experience with a choice of Design Your Day options, from relaxing spa treatments to active outdoor excursions. In Kathmandu, it could mean meeting with a heritage and architecture expert to learn about the ongoing reconstruction of Nepal’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. In Abu Dhabi, it could be 18 holes at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. And in Bhutan, it could be a personal fortune-telling session with an astrologer.
On the ground, guests travel in small groups of no more than 16, each led by a tour manager, assisted by expert local guides who share their personal stories and lend insights beyond any guidebook.
Accommodations reflect the distinctive character of each destination and offer authentic hospitality. Highlights include a Nepali architectural treasure in Kathmandu and five-star comfort just steps from Petra. Guests may also take advantage of A&K’s complimentary laundry service, Traveller’s Valet midway through the journey.
Guests travel on A&K’s privately-chartered Boeing 757-200ER where custom-designed Italian leather seats are equipped with a personal massage system, 4-way adjustable headrests and lumbar support, that open to fully lie-flat beds.
Such an extravagant and unique experience is priced at AU$200,000 per person twin-share. Solo travellers will need to pay a Single Supplement of $24,265.
