New afternoon tea concept debuts at COMO The Treasury

The Cape Arid Rooms is a nod to WA regional cuisine.

COMO The Treasury in Perth has introduced a new afternoon tea that showcases the culinary experience of Western Australia’s southern Cape Arid National Park.

Located within the luxury hotel’s south-eastern wing, the debut of the Cape Arid Rooms – three interconnected rooms – follows two years of research and draws inspiration from some of the finest afternoon teas across the globe.

This virtual journey is crafted through the lens of renowned Western Australian artists Philippa and Alex Nikulinsky, whose works adorn the walls of the tranquil space.

The finest local producers shine via their dedication to the art of this afternoon indulgence. Bannister Downs Dairy in Northcliffe, Honey for Life in Karragullen, and the Chestnut Brae Farm in Carlotta are just some of the local producers who supply dishes such as the lime and mint delice, rye tartlet and the super ‘Jarrah’ honey cheesecake tartlet. The tea program has been curated in collaboration with Teassential, with the Cape Arid Rooms team trained by Teassential tea master David Liem.

Emma Farrelly, State Buildings Director of Wine, has chosen a selection of champagnes and wines to complement the afternoon tea menu by COMO The Treasury Executive Chef, Kim Brennan.

Afternoon tea menus will change every three months.

Jesse Tibert, COMO The Treasury Hotel Manager says: “We have focused on elevating every individual element of the afternoon tea service. From the carefully crafted tiers of the afternoon tea stands which feature three rich local woods, to a focus on continuing the experience beyond the tea rooms with complimentary handcrafted seasonal pastilles given to each guest upon departure.”

COMO The Treasury is offering a two-night package that combines a hotel stay with the Cape Arid Rooms experience, priced from $1,595 for two guests. Also included is breakfast at Post, a choice of either afternoon tea with a glass of sparkling wine or a three-course lunch at rooftop restaurant Wildflower, dinner at Post and COMO Shambhala Signature Massages for two.
