New e-learning platform offers affordable self-education courses

Progressive Travel Training aspires to assist the travel industry reboot post-pandemic.

Global travel recruitment firm Progressive Travel Recruitment has launched a new e-learning platform for travel education. Fifteen months in the pipeline, Progressive Travel Training aspires to help the tourism sector reboot post-pandemic.

PTT has rolled out with an initial suite of 12 training courses, of which the first three are free. Those free courses include ‘stress-management in travel’ training to help workers in the sector overcome and recover from tough COVID working conditions, along with ‘Migrating to remote travel home working’ and ‘Blog writing to boost travel business’.

The other courses are priced from between an affordable £30-£50 (approximately AU$55-$91), in order to provide access to all.

Subscribe to LATTE’s free eNewsletter to keep up to date with everything in the luxury travel industry.

Topics include ‘How to sell travel and achieve sales success’; ‘Managing travel consultants to sales success’; ‘Increase your travel enquiries using Facebook’; ‘Presentation skills in travel’; and ‘Successful corporate travel account management’.

PTT’s e-learning courses are authored by travel experts in their respective fields, and have been created to elevate the industry from within. Once started, participants can return to their learnings at any time.

“PTT’s founding vision is that travel professionals who might now be responsible for their own learning costs after being made redundant or going self-employed during the pandemic are still able to pursue their career development and that employers who want to invest in their teams but have faced tough trading conditions over the last 12 months can still do so,” the company said.

The e-learning modules have been co-authored by senior travel industry experts and Progressive Travel Training co-founder, Fi Morrison-Arnthal. Fi’s extensive experience managing frontline agents, leadership in training and care for the sector make her uniquely qualified to lead the design and delivery of online educational content that those working in travel really need to succeed and thrive in their careers.

Morrison-Arnthal says; “It’s apparent that formal training and in-house trainers are a luxury many travel businesses and agents cannot currently afford.

“While there is plenty of online training available covering destinations, product and GDS skills, travel industry employees are frustrated about the limited soft skills available. We have launched Progressive Travel Training to address that need, and to give back to the industry we love – sharing everything we know with a community that is ready to progress and come back post-COVID thriving.”

Travel partners can learn more about the benefits of empowering their progression by viewing an additional free taster course, ‘Travel training (what’s in it for me?)’, here.
