Crystal continues to revise 2021 river schedule

Additional cancellations and consolidation on European waters

Crystal River Cruises has continued to consolidate its planned 2021 resumption, with additional sailings in Europe departing between September and December now cancelled.

Three Crystal Bach ‘Romantic Rhine’ seven-night cruises from 17 October to 7 November between Amsterdam and Basel have been abandoned.

Four back-t0-back seven-night river voyages on Crystal Bach on the Rhine, scheduled between 7 November and 2 December, including a ‘Christmas Time on the Rhine’ sailing, have been cut, along with a 10-night ‘Rhine Christmas Markets’ sailing on 5 December 2021.

Similarly, five consecutive ‘Delightful Danube’ week-long departures between Budapest and Vilshofen on Crystal Mahler between 21 October and 25 November have been shelved.

“As we review our intended deployment for the balance of 2021, we have decided to cancel select sailings of Crystal Bach and Crystal Mahler and thoughtfully reaccommodate guests on identical sister ships Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel. All affected guests, and their travel advisors, were contacted directly with details of this cancellation along with their compensation and rebooking options,Crystal said in an updated statement.

The river cruise consolidation follows a string of cancellations earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Crystal says it is also working on a modified itinerary for its upcoming Bahamas Escapes sailings on its ocean ships due to concerns around Spanish Wells.

“We are currently reviewing options,” Crystal said.

“We continue to work closely with local partners to finalise our plans and we will inform our guests and travel partners of the itinerary change once it is confirmed. We are committed to offering our Luxury Bahamas Escapes guests a one-of-a-kind experience showcasing the beauty and culture of the islands, operating with the greatest care and reactivating economic growth in The Bahamas,” Crystal said.

Crystal Endeavor

Separately, Crystal is offering a US$1,000 “As You Wish” shipboard credit for all new guests booking on Crystal Endeavor‘s inaugural collection of Antarctica sailings between November 2021 and February 2022.

Voyages operate roundtrip from Ushuaia and range in duration from 11 to 19 nights.

Crystal has also trimmed its deposit requirement for new bookings on Crystal Endeavor from 25% of the cruise fare, to 15%, and has relaxed its final payment due date to 60 days prior to the first date of service for 2021 voyages, and 120 days prior for 2022 sailings.
