Spencer Travel merges leisure brands

Spencer Travel Southside, Eastside and Shire Travel under one new entity

Spencer Travel has merged its leisure retail brands – Spencer Travel Southside, Spencer Travel Eastside and Shire Travel – into one entity, now known as Spencer Travel Leisure.

The move follows Spencer Travel’s re-location of its leisure offices to its head office in Mascot, Sydney in October last year.

Managing Director of Spencer Travel, Penny Spencer, said: “Having all consultants together under one roof, servicing clients, sharing knowledge and supporting each other has really strengthened our team and our business.”

At the time of the office integration, Spencer revealed her strategy moving forward, was to “consolidate and survive – part of survival is making sacrifices and unfortunately no longer having shopfronts may be the future,” Spencer told LATTE.

“As we don’t know when international [travel] will return, to have everyone under the one roof and working together as a team and one set of overheads makes sense for coming out of COVID,” Spencer explained.

Yesterday, having revealed the new leisure brand, Spencer said: “We are delighted to now have a new name which represents all our leisure consultants”.

Clients will still be speaking and booking with their personal consultant and will also have access to our other experienced leisure consultants if they are not available.”

Last week, Mosman Travel on Sydney’s lower north shore (which is co-owned by Penny Spencer and Sharyn Kitchener and their spouses, Edwin Spencer and Mike Goodall) acquired Mary Rossi Travel.

Spencer Group of Companies is a member of the Virtuoso luxury travel network and Magellan Travel Group.
