Valiant Lady handed over to Virgin Voyages

Fincantieri delivers second Lady ship to Richard Branson's cruise line

Virgin Voyages officially has a fleet after the second ship in its Lady vessels, Valiant Lady, was delivered by shipbuilder Fincantieri on Friday [2 July 2021].

Valiant Lady, a sister ship to Scarlet Lady, was handed over on the same day Virgin Voyages third ship, Resilient Lady, was float out at the Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy.

All three ships weigh around 110,000 gross tons, are 278 metres long and 38 metres wide. They all feature over 1,400 guest cabins for a capacity of 2,770 passengers.

Valiant Lady is earmarked to begin sailing in the Caribbean, from Miami, in November 2021.

The double milestone comes ahead of the first sailing of Scarlet Lady, which has been postponed numerous times due to COVID-19. Scarlet Lady will embark on her inaugural sailings in the United Kingdom – a “Summer Soirée Series” of three- and four-night cruises operating from Portsmouth – commencing 6 August 2021.

Meanwhile, Virgin Voyages has this month released a new promotion, offering guests who book their voyage 180+ days out from sailing a discount of 10% off the voyage fare.

Additionally, guests who book within 121-179 days from sailing will save 5%.

Plus, guests who take advantage of the ‘Book Early and Save’ offer can also combine the saving with Virgin’s Pay-in-Full discount “for a truly incredible deal that keep them coming back to you,” Virgin Voyages told its travel trade partners.
