A&K adds new luxury Northern Territory adventure

11-day Top End to Uluru exploration with stays at Bamurru Plains and Longitude 131

Abercrombie & Kent has added a new small group journey to its Australian portfolio unlocking the Top End and Red Centre. The 11-day adventure reveals the Northern Territory at its finest from north to south.

The itinerary provides an in-depth exploration of Darwin, with guests discovering all the city’s major sights from historic Fanny Bay Gaol and Government House to the Botanical Gardens and the idyllic waterfront. Art lovers will relish a visit to the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT which houses an impressive Aboriginal art collection and a cleverly curated Cyclone Tracy display. A day is given for guests to curate their own experience choosing from a walking tour focusing on the events that shaped the city’s history from WWII to Cyclone Tracy, a gourmet tour of Darwin’s top eateries or an historic harbour cruise.

The trip encompasses Arnhem Land with a visit to Davidson’s Safari Lodge at Mt Borradaile, where extraordinary indigenous rock art is revealed by a local expert giving rich traditional insight. The magic of the Mary River floodplains is revealed at the luxury glamping experience, Bamurru Plains. A charter flight delivers guests back to Darwin before flying south to the Red Centre where Kings Canyon is explored by foot. The evening is capped with a 4-course feast under the stars at Kings Canyon Resort.

The grand finale awaits at majestic Uluru where guests are indulged in unmatched outback luxury at Longitude 131, enjoying iconic views of the great monolith as its colours change throughout the day from the comfort of their luxury tent. Guests will walk around the base of Uluru, spotting wildlife and sampling bush tucker. A spectacular dusk visit to Kantju Gorge will reveal the rock walls ablaze with light as the sun sets before guests experience the internationally-renowned Field of Light installation and a 4-course dinner with Longitude’s resident astronomer illuminating the southern constellations.
