Captain’s Choice releases 2022 Private Aircraft adventures

Luxury air tours across Australia and to New Zealand and New Caledonia

Captain’s Choice has released its 2022 Australian program of private aircraft itineraries, with adventures to the Kimberley, Uluru, Arnhem Land, Ningaloo Reef, Southern Islands and remote Queensland.

An exploration abroad to experience some of New Zealand’s luxury lodges is also on the agenda again for April and November next year, alongside a 5-day interlude in New Caledonia to celebrate Bastille Day in July 2022.

Among the collection are dual iconic outback events – the Birdsville Races (included on a 3-day trip from Brisbane in April) and Opera at Uluru (also offered on a 3-day trip from Brisbane and Sydney).

The Weekend in The Outback by Private Plane is available from either Sydney or Brisbane and traverses Broken Hill, Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre and Birdsville, with dates offered in both April and September on each.

Captain’s Choice is offering new dates for its returning week-long Whale Sharks and Wines of the West journey in March and May, and the Southern Islands adventure in February and October, both operating roundtrip from Sydney.

There is also a Wine Odyssey by Private Jet itinerary curated for the Australian Financial Review’s audience in early September that will explore King Island, Hobart, the Adelaide Hills, Margaret River, Barossa Valley and Rutherglen over 8-days.

A stand-out journey will be the 12-day The Kimberley with True North & by Private Plane in June, which will access remote destinations of the Kimberley Coast aboard TRUE NORTH, paired with two nights in boat Broome at the start and Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge at the end, priced at $29,000 per person twin share.

  • 8-day Islands & Icons of Remote Queensland by Private Plane to Longreach, Winton, Mount Isa, Normanton, Horn Island, Thursday Island and Hayman Island, available from Sydney or Brisbane in May and August.

The new program also features a trio of Solo Journeys, handpicked from the core program but offered exclusively for guests who prefer to travel on their own, with other like-minded single travellers.

The Solo Journeys in 2022 include the 3-day Weekend in the Outback by Private Plane from Brisbane on 13 May; 5-day Southern Wilderness & Gourmet Islands by Private Plane ex Melbourne on 3 November – both capped at 46 guests; and the 8-day Southern Islands by Private Jet from Sydney on 21 April, limited to just 30 people.
