Visit Anchorage has reappointed Canuckiwi Ltd as its representative agency in Australia and New Zealand, with immediate effect.
Pre-pandemic, the ANZ markets were ranked as Alaska’s number one international region for visitor arrivals. With a surge in interest for wide-open spaces and independent travel post-pandemic, it is timely to ensure awareness amongst trade partners of the offering Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska has available for when international travel resumes, forecast for 2022.
Visit Anchorage is looking to engage with travel advisors in order to assist their clients as borders open and clients can travel abroad again.

Visit Anchorage and Canuckiwi will be reactivating the current Anchorage Wildlife Experts (AWE) online training platform to life for Aussie and Kiwi travel agents via a four module webinar series. Completing the series will earn registered agents the status of a certified Anchorage Wild Expert. As a qualified expert they can join the agent incentive program including fam trips, exclusive events, AWE certification badge and join the AWE social group and AWE competitions.
One AWE specialist at the end of the four module program will be drawn at random to win their own spot on an Alaskan Spring 2022 FAM program including US$500 towards their airfare to get there.
Monthly Webinars will begin on 15 September, and run through until 7 December 2021.

- Module 1 – Introduction to Anchorage and South Central Alaska
Wednesday 15 September: Sydney 9am / Auckland 11am - Module 2 – Anchorage in any season
Thursday 21 October: Sydney 9am / Auckland 11am - Module 3 – Anchorage multiday itinerary builder
Tuesday 23 November: Sydney 9am / Auckland 11am - Module 4 – Cruising Alaska
Tuesday 7 December: Sydney 9am / Auckland 11am
The Anchorage Wild Expert (AWE) destination training program is designed to give travel advisors greater understanding of Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska, enhance their credibility and sales pitch with clients, and increase Alaska sales.
