Seabourn has updated the planned resumption date of the return of Seabourn Sojourn by six months. The ultra-luxury ship was flagged to return to service on 11 January 2022 following a voluntary pause due to the pandemic. Now Seabourn Sojourn will relaunch on 6 June 2022.
Seabourn has already resumed operation of two of its five ships – Seabourn Ovation in the Greek Isles and Seabourn Odyssey in the Southern Caribbean – while Seabourn Ovation is slated to begin sailing again this January and Seabourn Encore in Greece come April.
The decision to delay Seabourn Sojourn’s return, and thereby cancel her World Cruise from Los Angeles is “a result of the current environment and forecast for destinations to reopen,” Seabourn said.
Sojourn will now resume service in Europe for the 2022 summer season in the Western Mediterranean, exploring the French and Italian Rivieras, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, Malta and the Canary Islands.
“Based on input from our loyal guests and those interested to experience Seabourn for the first time, we revised the restart for Seabourn Sojourn to coincide with peak summer 2022 travel,” said Josh Leibowitz, President of Seabourn. “We know our guests are eager to see the world with us again, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to Seabourn.”
The cruise line said its 2024 World Cruise itinerary will replicate that of the 2022 World Cruise, which will go sale in October 2021.
Guests and travel advisors on the cancelled 2022 World Cruise voyage will receive specific information applicable to their booking. Seabourn recommends that those impacted use the online resources available on its website first rather than calling the Reservation Call Centre due to the possibility of high call volumes and the potential of long on-hold wait times.
