The Travel Corporation’s luxury accommodation brand, Red Carnation Hotel Collection, has flagged an April 2022 opening date for its first hotel in Scotland, and 19th globally.
The Tollman family acquired its exclusive address in Edinburgh, directly opposite The Royal Scots Greys Monument and Princes Street Gardens, just over two years ago, with the vision to re-imagine the former three-star Royal Overseas League Hotel into a luxury dwelling.
This week, The Travel Corporation said the project is “a realisation of the Tollman family’s dream to showcase everything exquisite about Edinburgh, and Red Carnation Hotels.”
Taking the name of its physical address, 100 Princes Street, the property is inspired by the rich history of the many great Scottish explorers and adventurers who made the historic building their ‘home away from home’.
A sister property to Hotel 41 in London, 100 Princes Street will focus on service, with an“anything, anytime” approach. The luxury hotel will have 30 guest rooms and suites, many with extraordinary views looking up towards Edinburgh Castle
Stand-out features will include a wine wall with over 200 fine wines, showcasing the range from the family-owned vineyard Bouchard Finlayson, and an incredible collection of acclaimed Scottish whiskies adorning one wall. Guests will be invited to select from a carefully curated menu with the world’s rarest libations, time-honoured classics, delicious cocktails, exclusively hand-crafted spirits and Scotland’s “liquid gold”, before retiring to the fireside as the panoramic windows frame the Castle.
100 Princes Street will feature a 2:1 staff ratio showcasing the best of local Edinburgh talent, defined by the Red Carnation art of hospitality.
