Schroeder named Kempinski’s Chairman of the Board

Interim Chief Executive Officer tapped for permanent fixture

European luxury hotelier Kempinksi has named Bernold Schroeder as Chairman of the Management Board, concurrently confirming him as Chief Executive Officer having held the Interim CEO title since December.

Schroeder, who joined Kempinski in 2017 as Vice Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer Europe, assumed the Interim CEO position following the sudden termination of Martin Smura late last year, who was subsequently investigated by Kempinski for his prior dealings.
