Putting Sustainability First

Forward-thinking, the Principality is committed to protecting the environment and continuously works to engage all of its partners in promoting responsible tourism. HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco has committed the Principality to reduce its greenhouse gas by 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 and to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Having been committed to the fight against climate change and for the protection of the oceans for many decades, and even more so since the accession of HSH Prince Albert II in 2005, Monaco is implementing numerous environmentally-friendly actions.

This requires a comprehensive state policy, through an approach that includes all stakeholders in local tourism, from restaurateurs to hoteliers.
