Hapag-Lloyd to resume bilingual sailings from January

EUROPA 2 and HANSEATIC inspiration to welcome international markets again

German ultra-luxury cruise line, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, will begin welcoming international guests back on board two of its ships from January 2022.

After a voluntary COVID-19 cruise pause, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises relaunched with a scaled-back operation in the summer of 2020. The cruise line has until now offered routes for guests residing in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as part of the hygiene and prevention concept, and has been steadily adding more ships back into service since then.

Effective 1 January 2022, EUROPA 2 and HANSEATIC inspiration will be offering voyages to German and English-speaking full vaccinated international guests of all nationalities, with services on board available in both languages.

EUROPA 2, rated 5 stars plus by the Berlitz Cruise Guide 2020, starts the New Year in the Indian Ocean – on Mauritius, the Seychelles and Réunion. The ship then sets course for South Africa and Cape Verde. From March the small luxury ship will head for the islands of the Canary Islands and Western Europe before she is expected in the home port of Hamburg at the end of April.

HANSEATIC inspiration will return to the Antarctic and Arctic, the Great Lakes of North America, South America, including the Panama Canal and the Chilean fjords, as well as Cape Verde and the Canary Islands.

“Always a priority to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, the highest standards of hygiene and protection measures, of course, will be in place for all our passengers aboard EUROPA 2 and HANSEATIC inspiration. We can even guarantee a 100% fresh air supply in the suites and cabins, as well as all public areas,” said Julian Pfitzner, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.

Since autumn 2021, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has been offering all routes exclusively for guests who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as an additional safety measure, and in order to comply in some cases with existing national requirements for the destinations visited.

Keeping the number of crew at the usual high level, while reducing passenger numbers, means ensuring the highest standards of personal and attentive service.

EUROPA 2‘s first international voyage will be the 12-night Like Being in Paradise itinerary (EUX2231), departing Port Louis, Mauritius on 5 January 2022. Prices from US$8,960 per person (double occupancy) in Guaranteed Silver (Category 1-2) accommodation, cruise only.

HANSEATIC inspiration‘s first international voyage is the New Life in the Ice itinerary (INS221), departing Ushuaia, Argentina on 8 January 2022. Prices from US$15,400 per person (double occupancy) in a French Balcony cabin, cruise only.
